Honey and her grandchildren.
Sweet Like Honey Devotions, founded by Dr. Catherine Groven, began as a heartfelt family devotional created for her own family—Paul, Catie-Claire, and Brendan—along with her extended family, including Honey (mom); siblings Cameron and wife Ashley, Cathlean and husband Matt, and Carlon and husband James, and Skye; and her beloved nieces and nephews: Caroline, Renner, Jillian, Camille, Jack, Preston, Payton, Paisleigh, Hayden, Joshua, John Brantley, and Carson.
As a lifelong educator, Dr. Groven is passionate about sharing the teachings and practical applications of Jesus with children and families, inspiring generations to grow in faith and follow Him together. She is blessed to partner in ministry and education consulting with her sister, Cathlean, who also serves as an invaluable best friend and source of encouragement.
Sweet Like Honey Devotions offers a comprehensive nine-week or year-long weekly course on theology designed specifically for adolescents, combining engaging lessons with the teaching strategies of Jesus—such as storytelling, thought-provoking questions, and practical applications—to make theological concepts accessible and meaningful. This course encourages a deeper understanding of faith and equips students to apply their beliefs in daily life. Separate from the course, weekly blog posts provide devotional guidance and reflections for families, offering additional opportunities for spiritual growth and connection at home. A companion book, currently in development, will serve as a valuable resource to support both the course and devotional practices .
